Leeds Castle stands on 2 islands in a lake along the River Len, which offer a distinctive and picturesque setting. Originally established as a Norman stronghold, it is regarded as one of the loveliest castles in the world, it takes its name from a 9th century Saxon nobleman, Ledian, who constructed the first wooden fortress on the site in 857.

Canterbury is one of the most beautiful historic cities in the country. The most impressive of all is Canterbury Cathedral with parts dating back to the 11th Century. In a city with so much  history it is home to some wonderful museums.

The RAF Manston began on 29th May 1916 as Royal Naval Air Service Manston. The museum was first housed in a large   wooden hut that had been used by the Intelligence Section during World War 2, the museum is now in the former Mechanical Transport Section hangars, in the mid 1990s.
